Update Samsung Galaxy S3 SCH-i535 to Jelly bean 4.3 Update
Galaxy S3 JB 4.3 update
Like many other Samsung devices that are getting Jelly bean 4.3 update with CyanogenMod 10.2, Galaxy S3 model SCH-i950 can also be updated to Jelly bean 4.3. CM 10.2 is an unofficial ROM that provides the features of Jelly Bean 4.3. You may now update your Samsung S3 device to latest Android version by following the tutorial. Note that this tutorial is specifically written for Samsung Galaxy S3 SCH-i535.
Before updating Galaxy S3, make sure that you have:
- Enabled USB debugging mode by going to Settings, then development options and then USB debugging.
- Backed up all the important data of your device.
- Rooted, unlocked and installed the recovery tools like CWM or TWRP.
- Charged the device to more than 70%.
You need to download CM 10.2 ROM for Galaxy S3 and save it on desktop.
Steps to update Galaxy S3:
- Connect your galaxy S3 and computer with USB cable, copy the CM 10.2 custom ROM file to your Device’s internal SDcard and disconnect it from computer.
- Switch off-- your device and boot in recovery mode by pressing and holding power and volume up button simultaneously until the menu appears.
- Wipe the data by going to wipe data/factory reset option followed by Yes to wipe the current ROM.
- Now it’s time to flash the CM 10.2 ROM. From main recovery menu select install zip from SDcard and then choose zip from SDcard. Locate the CM 10.2 custom ROM file already saved on desktop. Select it and initiate the installation.
- Similarly, you can install the GApps package by following the above step of locating the file from SDcard.
- Once everything is done, go back to main menu and reboot your device.
When reboot, your device will be flashed with CM 10.2 custom firmware based on Jelly bean 4.3. You can now enjoy the latest features of Jelly Bean 4.3.
